After three relaxing days at Manning Gorge, we set off on the short drive to Hann River (free camp) stopping at Barnett River Gorge. If you are wanting to visit Barnett River Gorge make sure you are following WikiCamp as it is not signed. It is a short walk to the gorge and be prepared to get lost as there are no signs or visible tracks. The only markers to stay on the path are rock piles.

We have recently completed the Gibb River Road and it was an absolute adventure of a lifetime. We share what we got up to, where we explored and all our best tips when it comes to one of the best drive in Australia.

We search and find one of the best free camps we have even been to! A couple of cool creek crossings and we got to the amazing Kalgan Pool!

Our first main few stops on our journey around Australia were some awesome free camps as we had our eyes set on getting to Karijini National Park. Though we were also not keen on driving long hours, so we decided that we would break up the drive into 3 or 4 days. We probably averaged about 3 hours of traveling per day, therefore, not to rush in the mornings and still have plenty of light when we got into camp at the end of the day.

We continue our road trip up Western Australia’s Coral Coast, visiting Quobba Station, Red Bluff, Warroora Station and all the amazing places to visit in Exmouth and Coral Bay.
