From Texan Longhorns to Reef Wonders: Outback to Ocean Expedition

We're back with another ripper of an adventure that'll leave you wanting more! Our latest YouTube video, "Face to Face with a Texan Longhorn," has it all, and we can't wait to share the highlights.

Roadside Rescue

Our journey kicks off on a heartwarming note as we were cruising the roads near Charters Towers. What happened next was completely unexpected. Megan spotted something tiny and helpless on the roadside, and her instincts kicked in. A baby joey, was on the verge of becoming roadkill, but luckily we swooped in just in time to save the day. We took him straight to the local vet, where he received a warm welcome and a promising future in the hands of wildlife rescuers. It is so important to keep and eye out for Joeys from road kill and if you can, always check the pouches of road kill. To see the moment we picked the little guy up off the road, click here.

Texan Longhorn Adventure: Bulls, Horns, and Tons of Fun

From there, we shifted gears to an entirely different experience – Texan Longhorn Tours. These magnificent beasts are a world away from your ordinary cattle, with horns that can stretch up to 277 cm! Mick and Linda Bethal, the proud owners of the Texan Longhorn Wagon Tours and Safaris, shared their passion for these incredible creatures. Mick, a seasoned cattle breeder, entertained us with stories and allowed us to get up close and personal with these amazing cattle. It was a day filled with laughter and unforgettable moments.

Magnetic Island Bliss: Tranquility and Hidden Gems

After getting a good taste of the Queensland outback, we headed back to the coast towards Magnetic Island, a paradise just off the coast of Townsville. Our ferry ride was smooth, and the island greeted us beautiful weather. We explored the Strand, Townsville's waterfront precinct, before finding some quiet bays to have a swim and soak up the sun.

Magnetic Island offered us tranquility and natural beauty like no other. We soaked in the serenity of Picnic Bay and ventured further to Arthur Bay, where we stumbled upon coral reefs and fish right off the jetty. Although we couldn't resist taking a peek, we left the snorkeling for the next! To see our awesome drone shots of the island, watch the full video.

Great Barrier Reef Dive: Beneath the Waves

The climax of our adventure took us beneath the waves of the Great Barrier Reef. We dove into the mesmerising world of coral and marine life that is the Great Barrier Reed. Unfortunately, during our dive our GoPro had a bit of trouble with the pressure, so you won't get to see the incredible sights we witnessed, but trust us – it was nothing short of spectacular. Megan hadn't done this in years, and Joss was a first-timer, but the experience left us both in awe. This was up there with one of the best experiences we had done on our entire travels!

A Dive to Remember

We may not have captured the underwater magic on camera this time, but the memories we created will last a lifetime. It's a dive we'll cherish, and we're itching to get back in the water soon. Stay tuned for our next dive adventure, where we'll have a dive housing ready to capture every breathtaking moment.
